Career Counseling and Assessments
Each member can complete an Expatriation
Assessment that will gather information on the member’s background,
interests and goals in working abroad. Our Expatriation Assessor will
compare the individuals information with thousands of work permit
schemes and work abroad programs around the globe. When the analysis is
complete, the individual will be provided an in depth Expatriate
Assessment Report listing the countries they are eligible to work in and
the programs they are immediately eligible for. The report will also
list additional opportunities available if the individual chooses to
meet additional requirements.
The Global Career Center will then issue
the individual an Expatriate Certification for any country the
individual is interested in working in. The Expatriate Certificate
notifies the potential employers that, based on the individuals
responses, they are eligible for specific work permit schemes or
programs in that country.
The Assessment will also provide a
recommended work plan and class schedule for the individual to assist
them in becoming an expatriate.
A career counseling session can help an
individual make decisions and plans related to life/career directions.
The strategies and techniques are tailored to the individual’s unique
needs and are available to individuals requiring career
counseling/coaching if…
q
The individual is thinking
about making a career change
q
The individual needs help
planning and implementing a job search strategy
q
The individual needs
encouragement
and support to maintain momentum in a job search
Perhaps the most classic of intercultural trainings, our relocation
counseling prepares expatriates and their families for the transition to
life in a new country. With time devoted specifically to personal
adaptation and professional adaptation, our programs will help ensure a
successful time abroad for employees and their family. In addition to
outbound preparation, the Global Career Center offers inbound
preparation for families who are repatriating to their home country – a
transition which is nearly always as difficult – if not more so – than
the original move abroad.
The Holland Self-Directed Search
measures strengths and interests using self-evaluations in Occupational
Daydreams, Activities, Competencies, Occupational Preferences, and
Ability Self-Ratings. Based on the answers, the Self-Directed Search
assigns an occupational code that correlates to different professions.
Other assessment tools such as the
Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, Strong Interest Inventory, and Career
Decision Maker are also available.

Our Certified Professional Resume

more about your skills. An overview of professional skills and
accomplishments will be crafted into an aesthetically pleasing document.

to discuss the finished product with the writer.
This one hour, one-on-one session is designed to sharpen interviewing
skills with a focus on how to answer the most difficult and frequently
asked questions. Our Career Counselors will give various guidelines on
answering difficult questions and help to tailor answers to a particular
situation or work history. This is ideal for those changing careers or
people who have been out of the job market for some time. |
