As GCC's summer internships wrap for 2025, the team shares some of the key highlights in a few cities where students lived, worked and explored for the summer. Some students were traveling to a new city and even getting on a plane for the very first time, while others had completed previous internships and were looking to expand their experience in a new and exciting environment. Employer testimonials provide a first-hand glance into an internship program, and this blog post will share some feedback that was provided to GCC and student interns.

From Flexomics employer regarding Boston University Metropolitan College (BU MET) program:

"Hard to believe it’s already the end of summer internships for Marta Miguel Méndez and Arianna Orlando Mendia! Thank you both for bringing curiosity, energy, and great ideas to Flexomics LLC — it’s been a real pleasure having you on the team! (And yes, it’s not really a summer at Flexomics without a little bowling outing)".

From BioSens8 employer regarding BU MET program:

"The program is fantastic, thank you so much GCC for offering their help! What was super helpful was talking to Catherine Hanley at the start to identify my priorities and goals, and then matching with the right interns who had some knowledge in what I was trying to do."

Many of GCC's summer programs are also based in California, whether in Los Angeles, San Francisco, or South California (SoCal). Partner institutions include the University of California, Berkeley, Riverside and Merced. Interning locally in California means that students based here are able to stay close to home while gaining internship experience (on-site or remotely).

From Food First employer regarding UC Berkeley NYC program and interns Yasmin Mohsen and Marisol Cruz Velasco

"On behalf of all of us at Food First - I want to thank each of you for all that you have done to advance our mission of being a champion on behalf of families and communities challenged by food insecurity. From the first day you joined us, we've all been impressed by how quickly and seamlessly each of you were able to offer insightful recommendations, tackle your assigned tasks with excellence and demonstrate an appreciation for and commitment to our organization's mission! Thanks again, Yasmin and Marisol, for being outstanding representatives of UC Berkeley."

As the team looks ahead to upcoming placements for Fall '25, Spring and Summer '26, the success of this year’s programs cements GCC's reputation as a leader in global internship placement and experiential education. With a focus on impactful, immersive internships, GCC continues to connect education and employability, with students gaining invaluable experience that they can take into their professional careers and beyond.

Stay tuned for upcoming Student Spotlights to be featured in the GCC blog mid-monthly, which will focus on student testimonials from a new city/country each month. If you’d like to learn more about the programs GCC offers, reach out to the team at info@globalcareercenter.org.
