The latest edition of GCC Connections highlights an exciting season of growth, innovation, and impact at Global Career Center. As GCC celebrates 20 years of connecting employability and education, the Spring 2026 newsletter reflects on how our programs continue to evolve alongside the changing world of work.

Celebrating Two Decades of Supporting International Students

What began in 2006 through a partnership with Boston University Metropolitan College has grown into a global model that now serves universities including UC Riverside, Keystone Sports, and others. For two decades, GCC has combined academic learning, career development, internships, and dedicated student support to help international students build successful global careers.

Record Growth in Global Internship Programs

This summer marks GCC's largest internship cohorts to date, with increased participation from international students studying at U.S. universities as well as students seeking regional opportunities closer to home. GCC's customized internship programs continue to provide meaningful professional experience through full-time placements paired with cultural and career development activities.

Adapting to the Future of Work

As career pathways evolve, GCC is expanding opportunities through innovative program models. From AI-enabled team projects in Ireland to virtual internships connecting Iraqi women with U.S. employers and hybrid programs in India, GCC continues to create flexible experiences that increase access to global career opportunities.

A Global Approach to Career Readiness

One of GCC's defining strengths is its Global Career Competency Model, designed specifically for internationally mobile students rather than relying on U.S.-centric career frameworks. By focusing on the skills that help professionals thrive in global workplaces, GCC continues to develop programs that prepare students for long-term career success.

As we celebrate this milestone year, we're grateful to our university partners, employers, alumni, and students who continue to make our mission possible. Stay tuned for more updates as GCC continues to expand opportunities and shape the future of international career education.
