Student Spotlight: Lehigh University 8-Week Internship Program in Singapore

Lehigh University collaborated with Global Career Center (GCC) on an 8-week internship program in Singapore. This blog post features a profile of Project Management in Marketing student, Madisyn Babb.
"This was my first opportunity to travel internationally, and I was eager to apply when I found out my university offered a program (Iacocca International Internship Program) to live and intern abroad! Since I'm majoring in marketing, I was looking for a marketing opportunity, and Singapore was one of the few countries that listed one. After researching Singapore more, I was drawn to its culturally diverse cuisine and focus on sustainability.

Through GCC, I matched with a health tech start-up called Rebee Health as a digital marketing intern! I was able to contribute across many areas of marketing including public relations, physical marketing, branding, and social media. Through this experience, I was able to strengthen my skills in building a brand, my ability to take initiative, and adapt quickly—skills that will prove useful in the future.

GCC also organized fun cultural events every other week, allowing us to explore and mingle with students from other universities. I really enjoyed being able to immerse myself in a completely new culture and lifestyle through the endless food and shopping Singapore had to offer.
Meeting new people every day with entirely different backgrounds has also been personally impactful—pushing me outside of my comfort zone as I travelled alone.

Being able to live and work abroad for two months has truly been an impactful and incredible experience. I've learned a lot professionally and gained a deeper appreciation for Singaporean culture and an emphasis on cleanliness, diversity, and sustainability."
