Student Spotlight: BU MET 6-Month Internship Program with Tesla in California

Boston University Metropolitan College collaborated with Global Career Center (GCC) on a six-month internship program in Fremont, California this Spring. This blog features a profile of Financial Management Master's student, Ethan Verduzco, who completed a Technical Project Management - Supply Chain Operations Internship at Tesla.

"My internship on Tesla's Supply Chain & Part Quality Operations team was one of the most impactful experiences of my career so far. I owned the end-to-end design and implementation of a supply chain data platform spanning North America and EMEA, building production ETL pipelines that processed over 20 million daily manufacturing and warranty records. The work directly reduced investigation cycle times on high-value warranty claims and supported cross-functional negotiations on multimillion-dollar supplier agreements.

Beyond the technical scope, what stood out most was the ownership Tesla gives its interns. I wasn't just supporting a project, I was driving it, working directly with engineering, operations, and finance teams to turn a real business problem into a functioning system. That experience sharpened both my technical skills and my ability to translate data work into business impact, and it's shaped how I want to grow my career at the intersection of data, program management, and cross-functional leadership."
